Tournament Rules

 1.

For U13 to U18, team rosters are to consist of a maximum eighteen (18) players. U11 and U12 teams are to have a maximum of fourteen (14) players.  Players are not to be from a higher age group or tiering (unless authorized by the LLDT Registrar or Chairperson in writing prior to the tournament).  Should you play an ineligible or an unlisted player, your team will automatically default.  A copy of your team roster is to be submitted to the referee prior to each game. Identification and proof of age may be requested.

 

 2.

Tournament games will be played on a round robin format in each grouping. The group leader will be that team with the most points earned in round robin play in their respective grouping. The grouping’s second place team will be that team that has the second most points in their respective group.

 

 3. All games shall be as follows:
  U18 2 halves of 35 minutes 
U16 2 halves of 35 minutes 
U14 2 halves of 30 minutes 
U12 2 halves of 25 minutes 

U17 2 halves of 35 minutes 
U15 2 halves of 35 minutes 
U13 2 halves of 30 minutes 
U11 2 halves of 25 minutes 

Please note that U11 and U12 groupings will use size 4 balls.  U13 and above will use size 5.   If you are playing up your team will be expected to use the appropriate sized ball for the grouping.

 

 4. Points shall be awarded as follows:
5 points for a win + 1 bonus point for each goal scored per game up to a maximum of 3 bonus points per game
2 points for a tie  + 1 bonus point for each goal scored per game up to a maximum of 3 bonus points per game
6 points for a forfeit. 
There are no additional points for a shutout.

The losing team also can earn the maximum three bonus points for goals. There is no overtime at the end of any game.  Unlimited substitution is allowed subject to permission of the referee. The first team listed on the schedule in any game shall be the home team. In case of a colour conflict, the home team shall be required to change colours. Ask Field Marshal if pinnies are available.

 

 5. If there is a tie in a grouping (based on points) the tie is broken thusly, in order of priority: 
  • Record between the tied teams.  
  • Greatest number of wins.
  • Lowest goals against. 
  • Most goals for.
  • Penalty shot shoot-out. Five shooters first, picked from the eleven players on the field at the final whistle, then sudden death.  If no winner is declared repeat shooters are picked from the players on the field at the final whistle.
  • Shoot-out to determine placing only, no points awarded in shoot-out. 

 

 6.

A red Card issued to a player or coach results in suspension for balance of game and one additional game. 
Three yellows to a player or coach results in player or coach being suspended for following game.
Any team receiving two red cards may be suspended from the tournament at the sole discretion of the Discipline Committee.
Any red cards received in your last game will be reported to your District Discipline Committee as required by BC Soccer Association.

 

 7.

All teams must be at the field 20 minutes before game time. There will be only a five-minute grace period from the scheduled start time. The late team shall forfeit the game. Games shall end no later than 5 minutes before the next scheduled game on that field.

 

 8.

End of game ceremonies (hand shake, awards etc.) shall take place off the field.

 

 9. Appeals:

All appeals must be in writing and presented along with a $100 fee in cash, to the Field Marshal within one (1) hour of the completion of the game in question. The fee will be forfeited if the appeal is not upheld. No appeal will be accepted without the fee.

 

10.

Any situation not covered by the above shall be covered by Fair Play rules from BC Soccer Association at the sole discretion of the Tournament Chairperson.
